I had the honor of working alongside Kim during a stormy wedding day last fall and y’all I have never had more fun or felt more encouraged during a wedding. Kim is such a light and brings the sunshine to your day, even if the rain clouds might say otherwise. She was prepared and ready no matter what came her way. The optimism and encouragement she gave to not just the bride, but the vendors she was serving was absolutely felt and made an immense impact on the wedding day overall. Her smile alone encouraged me to give my absolute best and her work was stunning.
She is detail oriented and genuinely cares for her couples. She helps ensure her brides know what to do when and makes sure to get them where they need be when they need to be there, taking away any and all stress. And, she does this all while also bringing their vision to life. It is incredible to see and an honor to work alongside her.
When I was making a list of vendors I wanted to include in this series, I was pretty picky. But, I immediately knew that Kim Sharp had to be a part of it!
I mean I would pay her just to follow me around everyday, that is how great she is.

Here is a little bit about who she is-
I am a wife, mom, grandma (KK), and boss business owner. I’ve been in MS for 28 years and most people still ask me where I grew up. I don’t have that southern twang unless I say “y’all” or “fixin’ to”. Assisting couples plan their dream wedding is my passion. Regardless of where they are in the planning process I step in seamlessly. A lot of people ask me how can I do what I do. They often say, “This is so stressful”. For me I thrive on this stress. It’s like solving a puzzle. All the pieces fit together and I am good at figuring it out.
Why did you choose wedding planning?
I dabbled in wedding planning starting around 20 years ago. I would help friends, their kids, then it turned into friends of friends. Nearly four years ago I made the leap to do this full time. And now here I am, thoroughly loving my job. I get to meet so many fantastic people – from couples and their families to vendors and venue owners. I truly love what I do and I hope it’s evident in my work.
What is your favorite moment during the wedding day?
My favorite moment of the day….. ohhhh… there are several. I love when all the vendors are done setting up at the ceremony site. The area is quiet and beautiful. I know a couple is about to make a major decision in their lives. I can take a moment to soak it all up because in about an hour it is showtime! Now my second favorite part is when a couple does the first look. The anticipation of seeing each other for the first time all dressed up in their wedding gear, the moment when the groom turns and his eyes go wide (and sometimes teary eyed), and the bride has the biggest smile on her face. This moment is just so touching and I get to be there for it.
Why is it worth investing in a professional wedding planner?
It is important to invest in an experienced wedding planner because we can navigate challenges, offer creative solutions, and ensure a smooth, stress-free celebration. A wedding planner brings expertise, trusted industry connections, and attention to detail that can make your special day truly exceptional.
What is something you offer that brides may not be aware of?
I have three packages. So if they need a planner to help with just the details on wedding day or if they need someone to walk alongside them and help them plan, I will be there. I also have a full service planning package for the couple that has too much on their plate to see to the details. All of my packages are listed on my website with prices. One of the things that I absolutely love seeing to is the custom timeline. I will create a wedding day timeline specifically for the couple that has every detail listed. This gives the couple a look into what their day will entail.
What is your biggest piece of advice for a bride planning their wedding?
I want the brides wedding day to be as stress free as possible. Organization is key to having your morning go smoothly. A few days before your wedding make sure you are all packed and ready to walk out the door. Have your bridal accessories all in one bag. You will be able to give this directly to your photographer for those detail pictures. The photographer can get it back to you and then you, the bride, are all ready to put on those final touches.
Your wedding day should be one that you look back on and say, “That was one of the best days of our lives!”. I will go above and beyond your expectations to give you just that. I am truly honored that you, the couple, would ask me to help the with such an important event.
